Vicente Gelo

Albaida del Aljarafe, 1976. He trained at the Cristina Heeren Foundation under the tutelage of Naranjito de Triana. He has formed part of the Flamenco Ballet of Andalusia for the past 9 years, under the direction of Antonio Gades, José Antonio and Cristina Hoyos, where he has had the opportunity to perform in the best theaters around the world. He works as a guest artist in the National Ballet of Spain. He is awarded the “Young Seville Award 2011” awarded every year by the Andalusian Youth Institute of the Junta de Andalucía. He also obtained the 1st prize of Cante «Sol de Oro de Lorca 2003» and 1st prize of cante «Pepe Marchena 2008», among others. In 2012 he debuted solo at the Festival de Jerez with press reviews that exalted his singing. He works with the Chekara Orchestra of Tetuán researching such deep-rooted music as Andalusí and Flamenco. Since February 2002 he has been part of “Casa de la Memoria”.
